Congress has created the National Commission on the Future of the Army for the purpose of making recommendations to Congress and to the Administration regarding the size and mix (Active, Guard and Reserve) of forces necessary to meet our nation’s security requirements. It is not within the Commission’s Charter to look at individual installations. The Commission’s focus is limited to the Army as a whole. Obviously, decisions regarding the size and mix of the Army could have implications for Fort Hood.

The National Commission on the Future of the Army will hold a Public Hearing in Killeen on July 9 from 3-5 pm in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Courtyard Hotel located at 1721 East Central Texas Expressway. We encourage you to attend to hear the testimony and discussions.
