Councils are an opportunity for investors to have more direct participation with the Chamber and its Plan of Work. Each council operates a little differently, but the goal is the same: to provide investors in the Chamber opportunities to engage with issues and shape programs.
Business Councils
Nonprofit Council
Shared knowledge, training, & access for more effective non-profits. The Nonprofit Council has two main arms: Networking & Development, and Community Outreach.

Public Education Council
Our Public Education Council is responsible for working with our educational institutions to create and execute collaborative strategies to produce the workforce of tomorrow.

Retail Council
The Retail Council develops programs and events that deliver value to retail businesses. As an example, the Retail Council recently hosted a Fats, Oils and Greases Seminar.

Welcome Council
The Welcome Council facilitates the transition of new Chamber members into active participants in the Chamber and business community. They do this throught mentorship, training and welcoming at ribbon cuttings and other networking events.

Leadership Councils
In order to be involved in the leadership of a Leadership Council, you need to be a Leadership Investor or above.
IT Council
Technology impacts every facet of business in the 21st Century. The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, through its Information Technology Council, will be leaders in the adoption, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy of the Chamber.

The Military Relations Council promotes the importance and sustainability of fort Hood and defense-related industries and builds on the strong relationship between the community and Fort Hood and with the U.S. Army.

This council will address issues that impact the region’s competitiveness and quality of life. Our Public Policy Sector is responsible for creating and executing strategies designed to unify the voices of the chamber’s business and economic development leaders on important policy issues.
