On Thursday, September 17, 2015, Bell County chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, tourism divisions and the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas will be co-hosting the Governor’s Small Business Forum along with the Texas Workforce Commission and Governor’s Office.
Governor's Small Business Forums give entrepreneurs and small businesses the valuable tools, skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy. Featuring a wide range of instructive sessions and expert speakers offering vital information on both public and private resources, the forums offer a great opportunity to network and connect with industry specialists, government officials, service providers and other regional businesses. Likewise, businesses are afforded a chance to network and trade with one another, exchange best practices, and discuss challenges and innovative ways of overcoming them. Overall, the forums highlight the wide range of opportunities available to all businesses, including minority and women-owned small businesses, veterans, and businesses interested in expanding.
After a brief welcome, Aaron Demerson, Texas Workforce Commission, will make a presentation on workforce programs in conjunction with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas.
A panel discussion featuring small local business owners will share their experience on financing, management and growth. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers from the audience.
To provide attendees with added tools for success, People Fund will share best practices for business startups, growth and accessing capital.
The registration fee is $20 in advance or $30 at the door. The registration fee also includes a Small Business Award Luncheon featuring Secretary of State Carlos Cascos. The lunch will conclude with an awards presentation from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism to recognize small business owners in Bell County.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with exhibitors from 1-2 pm. Exhibitors will consist of agencies and businesses with specialized services for small business owners.
