The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce is now accepting proposals from artists interested in creating a public art mural in Downtown Killeen. The mural will be located on the vacant lot located at 223 E. Avenue D. The artist’s proposal must have a local relevance to the theme of “Camp Hood to Ft. Hood – Embracing Our Rich Military History.” An optional Q&A for artists is scheduled for Friday, August 5 from 9-10:30 am at the mural site. Artists are invited to view the mural site and ask questions during this time.
Artists interested in applying should also contact Jennifer Hetzel, 254-526-9551 or jennifer@killeenchamber.com, for the full Request for Proposal. Proposals must be submitted in person to the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce no later than 5 pm Monday, August 22. Businesses are also being sought to sponsor or donating supplies for this and future murals.
