The Central Texas Business Resource Center (BRC) will be participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) the week of November 16-20. GEW is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. GEW is more than just an awareness campaign. It is a platform for connection and collaboration—engaging all players along the entrepreneurship spectrum in strengthening ecosystems around the world.

The BRC will participate by hosting several events to help support local entrepreneurs and those interested in more information about starting a small business. The Small Business Startup Crawl will be Tuesday, November 17 from 5-7 pm and will feature successful small business owners in the Killeen area. Tents and food trucks will be set up between Leah McGee’s State Farm Agency on Elms Rd. and Live and Let Liv Yoga on Levy Ln. to highlight the Killeen startup community. Small business owners are invited to set up a free exhibit. The public is invited to visit with these businesses to network, ask questions, and share ideas. This event is free to attend.

On Thursday, November 19 from 11 am-4 pm, the BRC will hold the Vetrepreneur Business Resource Summit in the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Board Room. This event will feature programs specifically for veterans and active duty soldiers looking to start or grow a small business. Experts will be on site to answer questions and share their knowledge. Cost to attend is $10 in advance or $15 the day of the event, and lunch will be provided. Organizations that offer veteran-specific business resources, including government contracting, veteran’s grants, veteran’s professional development organizations, and veteran small business owners, are invited to participate.

The final event for GEW will be the Business Resource Summit on Friday, November 20 from 9 am-2 pm at the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Board Room. This event is for anyone with a small business idea. Learn what it takes to start a small business, if your idea is sustainable, and get all of your questions answered in one place. This one-stop shop for small business startups will feature an accountant, professional development organizations, attorney, social media guru, HR, website and branding, bankers, alternative funding, grants, other business owners who can mentor startups, and more!
