The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce will be hosting two Career Day events for 8th Grade and High School students to learn more about different career options. Business representatives are needed to give presentations about their field and answer student questions.

KISD 8th Grade Career Day is February 14-16 and will allow approximately 2,800 students to determine their desired high school pathway by speaking with local business professionals who will talk about their field and answer student questions. Each representative will present one day for four 25-minute increments during the morning or four 25-minute increments during the afternoon. Representatives are needed from the career clusters listed below:

  • Arts, A/V & Communications
  • Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
  • Architecture & Construction
  • Manufacturing – Transportation
  • Government
  • Law & Public Safety
  • Health Science
  • Hospitality – Marketing
  • STEM
  • Education & Training
  • Business Management – Finance
  • IT
  • Human Service

Regional High School Career Day is February 10 from 11:30 am-2 pm and will connect approximately 400 students from schools in the Central Texas area to business professionals in a variety of fields. Representatives are needed to speak with groups of 5-7 students in a round table format about their career path. Students will rotate between the tables in 20 minute sessions. Training is available for those interested in participating.
